About the Author

M.A. Hastings spent 25 years in the behavioral health and rehabilitation counseling fields, where her writing leaned more toward the pragmatic than the poetic. Seeking a more creative outlet beyond grant writing and program justifications, she discovered her niche in crafting riddle-poems.

All who got a gift from her were treated to a rhyming riddle whose solution was the gift. Upon her retirement, the rhyming riddles evolved into the love-themed poems about self-discovery and Mother Earth found in her book.

Recently named a finalist in Oprelle’s “2023 Matter” Anthology Poetry Contest, Hastings writes about politics, religion, nature, climate change, sexuality, social justice and whatever else comes to her inquisitive mind. When she’s not writing, she can be found enjoying life with her husband, Lance Hastings, in Gainesville, Florida…and playing Pickleball and or kayaking every chance she gets.
